2012 Buick LaCrosse Eassist Review

Redesigned from scratch, 2012 Buick LaCrosse luxury sedan makes its world debut in the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit January 12, 2010. Buick LaCrosse offers all-wheel drive, a series of intelligent technologies for personal and security, and choice of two fuel-efficient V-6 engine.

"The new Buick LaCrosse created a lot of attention to detail, craftsmanship and advanced technology," said Susan Docherty, Buick-Pontiac-GMC manager. "It builds on the success of your next step revival Buick Enclave. And as the Enclave, our goal is to get a buyer of our new LaCrosse Aura".
 


Carved Design

Heritage Buick long line of top models such as the Y-Job Concept Roadmaster Riviera, and helped define the American Automobile years of planning, according to Vice President GM Global Design Ed Welburn. Today, the Buick is a team of product design, and global resources. "The new Buick LaCrosse is supposed to represent modern elegance," said Welburn. "Throughout the design that you have a balance of contrasts. The interior and exterior is designed with harmony in mind. The exterior balances taut lines and sculpted sensual accents and finishes. Inside, smoked chrome accents and warm wood, premium leather and materials combined with cool blue ambient lighting to create a welcoming environment. "

The exterior design is faithful to the Buick Invicta concept presented at the 2008 Beijing Auto.

"It's instantly recognizable as a Buick, with the side of the body" sweep spear "signature style, the windows within the character line on the hood and waterfall grille," said Welburn.
 


Luxurious interior experience

Inside, two-tone interior is defined by power, continuous design theme revolves instrument panel and doors. Attention to detail is evident throughout the interior, including the analog instrumentation with chrome inserts offset by dark wood and contrasting stitching wire French and the instrument panel.

Tuning signature quiet Buick - a technical process to reduce, block and absorb noise within - provides a distraction-free environment of passengers.

An unexpected twist is inviting the cool blue ambient light in the cockpit of the center console, dashboard and door panels.
 


Personal smart technologies

The modern atmosphere in the cabin include a digital connectivity and personal technology available in the new Buick LaCrosse. It includes features such as in-dash navigation, Bluetooth, an auxiliary audio input and USB port. For rear passengers, a sunshade and a power rear DVD entertainment system with two screens embedded in the file are available.
 


LaCrosse is also working on smart technologies to provide a 360 degree field of vision behind the wheel of a greater sense of comfort, safety and security. It starts with the available head-up display on the windshield, allowing the driver to monitor speed, while his eyes on the road. At night package available light directly adaptive high intensity discharge headlight beams up to 15 degrees for improved illumination of the road and curves.

Buick LaCrosse offers Side Blind Zone Alert that warns the driver if a vehicle in adjacent lanes moving in the driver's blind spot. The LaCrosse is available with a rear view camera with built-in screen display of the navigation system.
 


Technology available for the Buick LaCrosse, more standard safety features suites that are designed to meet the criteria of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 20-star safety. Other highlights include front, side and roof curtain airbags, traction and StabiliTrak stability control system. Security of OnStar is also the first year of ownership.

Responsive performance

Buick LaCrosse are stiff body structure provides the basis for accurate suspension tuning, security and a quiet ride. Buyers can choose from a range of powerful, direct-injection six-cylinder engines and a fuel economy of the six-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control.

Direct injection into the Buick LaCrosse to create more power with less fuel and reduce vehicle emissions through improved combustion control - especially at cold start emissions are reduced by up to 25 percent.
 


2012 LaCrosse is offered in three models - the ', CX and CXL CXS:

CX - equipped with a new 3.0L direct injection V-6, cloth seats and high-end 17-inch wheels. The 3.0-liter engine generates 255 horsepower estimate (190 kW) and 211 lb.-ft. of torque (286 Nm) and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
 


CXL - also features a new 3.0L direct injection V-6, adds leather-appointed heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, fog lights, outside mirrors with LED turn indicators and puddle lamps and wheels 18 inches. Intelligent AWD is available.
 


CXS - equipped with a direct injection 3.6-liter V-6, real-time active damping suspension, perforated leather seats-appointed, heated and cooled and chromed 18-inch wheels (19 inch optional). The 3.6L engine mated to a six-speed automatic, generates an estimated 280 horsepower (209 kW) and 261 lb.-ft. of torque (354 Nm).
